Motivation
Have you ever thought about what motivates you? Maybe you know off the top of your head... maybe you don't. As I made new goals for 2009, I asked myself this question. What does motivate me? Money? Vacation? Trip? Massage? Manicure/Pedicure? And to be honest, I have a hard time answering the question. I have allowed myself to get into this cycle of self- gratification. If I want something, I get it. If I want to go somewhere, I go. Some people say this also makes me hard to buy gifts for. The downside of this cycle is that I've never really, truly worked for anything. I have a mountain of debt and way to much body fat as a result. So as I look at 2009, two of my largest goals involve losing weight and paying off debt. But in order to stay motivated throughout the year, during the highs and the lows, what can I use to motivate me? To keep me focused? Hopefully the practice of defying self- gratification will enlighten what truly motivates me!

money is a great motivator...and ease...i like things that dont take any effort!
i feel ya. btw michael and i, we've started relying solely on cash and it's forced us to wait on some things. it's how we look at it that has changed our actions. i don't think we're any more motivated, but we are doing more. hope that made sense. i think my motiviation is simply that change has to happen, period.
well, i guess maybe the peace i know i'll get when x, y, or z is accomplished. if i focus on how that peace feels during the low points, it gets me through.
